I’m a scientist (and sometimes a singer), originally from the North of England & the South of India, with a passion for the arctic, foreign languages and glaciers (in no particular order).
I love exploring, whether it’s through science, picking history apart and turning it into music, or just travelling. I’ve worked in a few different places, including Antarctica and Nigeria – investigating scientific questions and drawing inspiration for songs at the same time.
Ethnically I class myself as an Indian/Geordie. And I am proud to be a “monkey hanger” – born in the wonderful northern town of Hartlepool, whose inhabitants famously hanged a monkey back in the 1700s, mistaking it for a French soldier.
